Vancam ("we", "us") provides an API, MCP server, and CLI that give AI agents and developers real-time visual data from public cameras. This page explains what data we collect when you use vancam.ai or sign up for an account, why we collect it, and who we share it with.
Data we collect
Account information
When you sign up, we store your email address, display name (if provided), and a unique user ID to manage your login. If you sign up using a third-party sign-in option, we receive the name and email associated with that account.
Billing information
Paid plans are processed by a third-party payment processor. We never see or store your card number — payment details are handled directly by our payment processor, which shares with us only what's needed to run your subscription: a customer ID, subscription status, and billing email.
API usage
Your API key, request rate, and monthly quota are tracked and tied to your account's user ID. We use this solely to enforce plan limits (free vs. Pro) and don't store a separate log of the coordinates or locations you query.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data to anyone.
- We don't run ads or ad-tracking on vancam.ai.
- We don't maintain a separate internal database of your account beyond what's needed to run identity, billing, and API access. There's no separate copy for us to lose or leak.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and associated data, email support@vancam.ai — we will remove your account, cancel any active subscription, and revoke your API key within 30 days.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage to keep you signed in between visits. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Children's privacy
Vancam is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
